The regulatory body that oversees lawyers in Ontario recently warned members of the regulated profession not to represent multiple police officers in Special Investigations Unit (SIU) investigations, citing a conflict of interest.
FAQ, Licensing Body Software
What is Alinity?
Alinity™ is a mission critical enterprise management system for licensing bodies that regulates their members. It is the only system on the market designed specifically for licensing bodies. Alinity™ is an award winning Microsoft Certified application and is a 100% .NET solution running on SQL Server. It integrates with Microsoft Office, and most standard accounting packages.
Why is Alinity™ different?
There are a number of reasons why Alinity™ is different than any competing membership applications on the market. The main reason however is that it is the only application designed specifically for licensing bodies. Another reason is Alinity™ is a “framework” solution and can adjust affordably to handle your emerging requirements.
Is Alinity™ designed for anything other than licensing bodies, like professional associations or clubs?
No. Alinity™ is designed for licensing bodies only. Each dollar we invest into Research & Development and each improvement we make to the system will be relevant to all of our clients, not just a portion of our clients.
How is Alinity™ different than a custom solution?
A custom software developer will build an application for any type of business. They do not specialize in your industry. Therefore they cannot provide you with the best solution do to lack of experience within your industry. They learn about your industry while building your system.
How is Alinity™ different than association management software?
Similar to custom developers, association management software vendors do not specialize in one area. They will develop systems for clubs, professional associations, trade associations, chamber of commerce, etc. Changes to their systems must meet the requirement of each of those industries, not a specific industry. You cannot get the glove like fit you require in an application and you may not receive any future benefit.
Do you offer a hosted solution?
Yes. Alinity™ can be hosted in our highly secure hosting facility. Our hosting facility is under 24 hour surveillance, offering data redundancy, offsite back ups and is maintained by our in-house experts. With the hosted solution you can avoid incurring extra software, hardware and personnel costs that can become extremely expensive.
My organization often changes, is Alinity flexible enough to handle those changes?
Alinity™ was designed with that question in mind. It is extremely flexible and affordably allows your Alinity™ application to change to meet your evolving requirements.
What if we don’t have an IT department?
Not a problem! With the Alinity™ hosted solution all you require is PC and an Internet connection to be productive. Several of our current Alinity™ clients do not employ an IT department of any kind.
Can Alinity™ interact with my website?
Unlike other systems, we set up Alinity™ Web Services to match the look and feel of your public brochure site, that way it does not feel like you are going to a different website. Alinity™ includes a series of Web Service modules your registrants can use to interact with your Alinity™ system. For example, a registrant may maintain their profile, view directories or renew and pay for their registration online.
How does Alinity™ support registrants changing their information online?
Alinity™ stores online data changes in a “holding” area that must be approved by staff before the core Alinity™ tables are updated. This will help prevent invalid data from reaching the system and ultimately the website. You have the option to allow changes on the web to update your system automatically while keeping a history of all address and name changes. A history of typical online changes, like address and name changes, are stored within Alinity™. That way you will know who changed what and when.
What if Alinity™ does not have a module we require?
Implementing a custom module has never been a problem for Alinity™. Upon implementation of the module it will be fully integrated in your Alinity™ application without having to change screens and allow you to take advantage of all the current Alinity™ user interface features Alinity™ has to offer.
Does Alinity™ meet the privacy requirements of today?
Alinity™ meets the stringent privacy requirements in Canada and the US. Therefore you, and more importantly your registrants, will never have to worry about their data.
Can our website be hosted with Alinity™?
Yes, your company website can be hosted along with your Alinity™ application.
